Awkwafina

Awkwafina was an American actor and performer who started her career through smart raps that addressed sexuality and racial identities with an edgy, comical perspective. She then expanded to Hollywood. Nora Lum is the daughter of Chinese and Korean parents in Forest Hills Queens. The trumpet was Nora's first instrument. After classical and Jazz training She delved into hip-hop as a teen. In college, she focused on her studies. She took up a degree in women's studies as well as journalism. While she was for a brief amount during her time in Beijing, Mandarin language classes were offered as well. It wasn't until she graduated that she start focusing on music. Following her viral success via the Internet and her own song My Vag was a reaction to Mickey Avalon's My Dick. It eventually was included on her debut album Yellow Ranger. The album also featured viral hit tracks, such as body-positive Queef and a wink-y home tour NYC BitcheUSD. The latter track was tied to Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide for 2015, which was a travel guide. She decided to pursue acting as a profession following the completion of her previous two ventures as a musician and author. In addition to early shows such as Girl Code and Tawk she appeared in films such as Neighbors 2. Storks and Bad Rap. The actress made headlines in 2018 with a few notable films like Dude Ocean's 8 as well as Crazy Rich Asians. Her EP came out, In Fina We Trust in June in the same year.
